About This Course

This seminar helps managers improve employee performance by delivering skills designed to get employee cooperation to improve their job performance and other work behaviors, including following procedures; not using cell phones or surfing the internet during work hours; refraining from negative gossip, etc. Highly beneficial during performance conversations and performance reviews; also includes skills to resolve employee defensiveness or resistance win-win. The trainer is the author of How to Give Employees Performance Feedback.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Learn how employees want to be given feedback in order to gain their cooperation
  • Construct non-confrontational messages about performance or other issues
  • Defuse defensiveness if it occurs
  • Resolve negative responses to feedback or other concerns win-win
  • Facilitate employees in developing solutions to performance concerns
  • Use an alternative coaching skill focused on what the employee does well
  • Increase comfort levels for managers and employees during conversations
