- Professional Associations - Professional associations are a great way to get involved in our profession and build new skills. The following are websites for national organizations in the field of talent development: Association for Talent Development, International Society for Performance Improvement, Society for Technical Communication, Organization Development Network, Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology, Training Magazine’s annual Training Conference, and Elliott Masie’s professional site.
- Recruiting Websites - A consultant should not have their eggs in one basket marketing themselves for contract positions. The following (in addition to TrainingPros’ website) are websites on which consultants should consider registering. These are websites that are used by staffing companies and recruiters to find talent for their contract projects: Monster, Indeed, LinkedIn, CareerBuilder, and Glassdoor.
